Following the footsteps of Elon Musk’s Twitter, Meta lead Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new paid feature named Meta Verified for both Instagram and Facebook. This new feature will allow the users to get teh verified badge as a subscription.

All the users who will subscribe for the same will get increased visibility on both platforms and better customer support. Zuckerberg said this week we are starting to roll out Meta Verified – a subscription service that allows you to verify your account with a government ID, extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and direct access to customer support.

With the help of Meta Verified, people will be able to confirm that they are who they say on the platform. The accounts get confirmed by government IDs. This will also help in the protection from things like impersonation. Moreover, the verification will help the accounts in reaching more accounts on Instagram and Facebook.

Nonetheless, not everyone will get access to Meta Verified, as there are a few boxes to tick. All the users need to be at least 18 years of age, and their accounts should also meet the minimum activity requirements. Another major thing to mention is that the government ID submitted by the users should match the profile name on the platform along with their photos posted on social media platforms.

What about the pricing and availability of Meta Verified?

Talking about the availability of Meta Verified, the feature is being tested in New Zealand and Australia. In the Australian market, the service is available at a price of AUD 19.99 on the web and AUD 24.99 on Android and iOS. As for New Zealand, the feature is available for Rs NZD 23.99 and NZD 29.99 on Android and iOS.
