Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platforms has launched a VR-based subscription service dubbed Meta Quest+ that gives VR users access to VR content and games. Zuckerberg took to his Instagram handle to announce the service that will cost users $7.99 per month or $59.99 annually. It will be available for Quest 2, Quest Pro, and Quest 3 VR headsets.

If you are a first-time Quest+ subscriber, you will get the first month at just $1 if you sign up before July 31. Meta’s Quest Series is undoubtedly the most affordable VR experience headset launching at a retail price of $999.99 for Quest Pro and $299.99 for Quest 2. For reference, the latest Apple Vision Pro made its debut at the WWDC 2023 with a price tag of $3,499 which is almost 50% higher than what the Quest 2 sells for.

Talking about the Quest+ subscription, users will get a tonne of free VR content. Two new games will be added to the catalog every month starting August 2023. The first offerings are Pistol Whip and Pixel Ripped 1995 while the August 2023 additions are Mothergunship: Forge and Walkabout Mini Golf.

Having a $60 annual Meta Quest subscription gives a boost to affordability as well as the convenience of having a curated experience as per Meta. Additionally, you can cancel the subscription anytime you want and rejoin just where you left off.
