MediaTek has announced a new mid-range chipset christened Dimensity 900. It is based on a 6nm architecture and comes with support for 5G, 108MP camera, 120Hz display, among various other things.

Here’s the full details about its layout, and features.

MediaTek Dimensity 900 Specs

As aforementioned, this is fabricated on a 6nm process, which is claimed to be 8% more efficient than 7nm architecture. The octa-core setup consists of two ARM Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.4GHz along with six ARM Cortex-A55 cores at a 2GHz frequency. This is coupled with support for either LPDDR4X or LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The chip also houses a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU and a discrete AI processing unit (APU). Meanwhile, the 5G modem is fully integrated into the SoC and boasts power efficiency thanks to the 5G UltraSave. You also get Dual 5G SIMs, dual-mode 5G, carrier aggregation, and speeds up to 2.7Gbps.

On the visual side of things, we have things like 120Hz Full HD+ display support and MediaTek MiraVision HDR video playback which enhances color, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and dynamic range of videos. The latter also enables real-time upscaling of SDR to HDR, HDR10 to HDR10+, along with per-frame local tone mapping.
