Maruti Suzuki, a prominent automobile manufacturer, has recently introduced the e Vitara, marking Suzuki Motor Corporation’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV). This global model holds significant importance for the entire group. The e Vitara will be produced exclusively at Maruti’s Gujarat Plant and is set to be exported to more than 100 countries, including Japan, as well as various European nations.

Maruti Suzuki’s representative, Toshihiro Suzuki, recently introduced the BEV at the Bharat Mobility Expo and announced that production is set to commence in the Gujarat Plant in spring 2025. Emphasizing India’s role as a global manufacturing hub, Suzuki stated, “We have selected India as our global manufacturing base because of its high-quality products and scale advantages.” Sales will begin promptly after production starts in the spring, and the company has established a fourth production line at the Gujarat facility dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles.

Three existing lines offer a production capacity of 7,50,000 units and adding a 4th line will increase it to cater to more markets around the world.
