How to reset your MacBook systems

To reset a MacBook, follow these steps:

1. Shut down your MacBook by clicking on the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen and selecting “Shut Down”.

2. Turn on your MacBook and immediately press and hold the Command and R keys (⌘R) on your keyboard.

3. Release the keys when you see the Apple logo or a spinning globe. This will boot your MacBook into Recovery mode.

4. When the macOS utility window appears, choose “Disk Utility” from the list of options.

5. Select the startup disk (usually named “Macintosh HD”) from the list of disks on the left side of the window.

6. Click on the “Erase” button.

7. Choose a name for the disk and select the format (usually “APFS” or “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)”).

8. Click on the “Erase” button to begin formatting the disk.

9. When the formatting is complete, quit Disk Utility and choose “Reinstall macOS” from the macOS utility window.

10. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the operating system on your MacBook.

11. When the installation is complete, your MacBook will restart and you will be prompted to set up your user account and other settings.
