Lumia 640 Amongst First Phones To Get Windows 10

Microsoft mobiles are now rolling well along the red carpet in the smartphone market with Windows 8.1 Denim OS on the go. At MWC 2015, where all smartphone giant brands showed off the best they could make till now, Microsoft showcased low budget Windows based smartphones Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL. Both the smartphones were based on Windows 8.1 OS and have some great features, one of which is their compatibility to run the latest upcoming version of Windows OS, which is Windows 10. Windows 10 has been pretty much on the mouth for over a couple months now and its technical preview has already been released to be downloaded and tested by developers.

As for the news of the moment, Microsoft seems to be preparing to introduce the latest platform Windows 10 to its smartphones, and the saga would begin with Lumia 640 getting it for the first. Microsoft’s Scandinavian General Manager Ossi Korpela disclosed in a statement that Lumia 640 would be included amongst the first batch of smartphones which will receive Windows 10 update, and this is going to happen soon by the end of this year. Microsoft Lumia 640 features a 5-inch HD display, 8-megapixel main camera and 2,500 mAh battery. It is powered by a quad core 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 1 GB of RAM.

Along with Lumia 640, an elder sibling, Lumia 640XL was unveiled with a bigger display of 5.7 inches. Microsoft Lumia 640XL features a a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1 GB RAM and sports a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front facing camera.
