As expected, LG has launched their flagship phone LG V40 ThinQ to compete against the like of Galaxy Note9 and upcoming Pixel 3-series. This time they’ve tried to up their game in the camera segment by excessing on camera options. Let us take a look at everything worth knowing about the LG V40 ThinQ.

LG V40 ThinQ Features

The LG V40 ThinQ comes with a 6.4-inch (1440×3120) 19.5:9 P-OLED FullVision Display. It runs on the latest Snapdragon 845 clocked at 2.8 GHz coupled with Adreno 630. The phone boasts a 6GB RAM bundled with an Internal of 64GB with an option to extend it up to 256GB with a microSD card.

LG has continued the use of its eminent Hi-fi Quad DAC for audio output and the phone features a Boombox speaker similar to the one used in G7. Thankfully, LG retains the 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

Now coming to the much-hyped camera section, LG tries to live up to to the expectations. The Primary rear camera is a f/1.5 aperture 12-megapixel camera with 1.4μm pixels that are 40 percent larger than the camera sensor used on G7.

More pixels might eventually mean better pictures. The second one is a Super-wide-angle f/1.9 aperture 16MP camera with 107-degree view field similar to G7. The next one is a 12MP f/2.4 aperture telephoto/portrait camera, which just adds depth to the pictures and helps give 2x zoom to the images.

LG has also customized its software to make the best use of the troika of rear cameras. They have introduced a new “triple preview” feature which will show you a live preview from all three cameras at the same time, allowing you to quickly pick the right one for the shot you’re trying to capture without having to switch between them. There is also a “triple shot” feature that captures all three angles within a single shot; it saves a GIF of the transition between them and also saves each individual shot.

On the front, we have an 8MP (f/1.9) lens and a 5MP (f/2.2) wide-angle lens which allows us to capture better selfies in portrait mode.

LG V40 ThinQ runs on Android Oreo 8.1 based LG Ux 7.0. It is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick charge 3 as well as wireless charging. It is available in two color variants Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue. It comes at a starting price of $899.99 and will be shipped in the US from October 18 onwards. There is no word on the Indian price as of now.
