Lenovo’s astonishingly slim, compact and light ultrabook, the Yoga S940, that first debuted at CES at the start of this year has now been introduced in India. With a starting price of Rs. 1,39,990, the Lenovo Yoga S940 competes in the truly premium segment and has the hardware chops to match up.

At the same event in New Delhi, Lenovo also presented its offbeat all-in-one Yoga A940 desktop targeted at creators. The Yoga A940 AIO starts at Rs. 1,69,900 and will serve as a cheaper alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Studio (which, by the way, starts at Rs. 4,52,240 in the country).

Speaking at the launch, Rahul Agarwal, CEO & MD, Lenovo India, said, “The pace of disruption in the smartphone market is raising the bar for innovation in the PC segment and consumers are demanding similar features in all their devices, including laptops.  Artificial intelligence (AI) coupled with smart features like facial unlock, voice assistant, makes Lenovo’s Yoga S940 the smartest ultraslim laptop yet. Lenovo’s Yoga S940 is designed for the power users who value security and privacy, alongside a more convenient, personalised and immersive experience.”

Yoga S940 Features

The Lenovo Yoga S940 has extremely slim bezels and places the webcam on a lip, that also assists with opening the lid. The side edges are curved, but under the curved glass your will only find bezels, not the display and thus the contoured area is mostly black and not easily discernible.

The base variant is powered by Intel Core i5 (8th gen). A higher Core i7 based variant will also retail in India. Memory and storage go up to 16GB and 1TB SSD. The base variant has a Full HD resolution screen and the top model gets a 4K panel. None of the two models offer discrete graphics.

Other highlights include Face Unlock, background blur in video calls, eye tracking to play-pause videos, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support.

As for connectivity, there are three USB Type-C ports, two of which are Thunderbolt-enabled and can be used for charging. Lenovo claims 15 hours of backup with FHD resolution and 10 hours with UHD screen.

Yoga A940 AIO features

The Lenovo Yoga A940 has a 27-inch 4K display with an adjustable hinge. Just like Surface Studio, this one too has a precision dial that can be used to adjust brush strokes, zoom, etc in apps like Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and powerpoint.

On the inside, the PC employs 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with AMD Radeon RX560 discrete graphics, up to 32GB RAM, up to 512GB of PCIe SSD or 2TB HDD storage.

Connectivity options include a generous set of USB ports and a 3-in-1 card reader.
