Lenovo Phab 2 Pro becomes First Google Tango Smartphone

Finally, the augmented reality tech is set to see the light of the day as Lenovo introduces Phab 2 Pro – the first consumer phone based on Google’s Tango (erstwhile Project Tango). Lenovo showcased it at its second Tech World event in San Francisco. Tango basically uses technology developed by Google and combines augmented reality (AR) with virtual reality (VR). It employs various sensors to measure and map surrounding objects and area.  In Lenovo’s terms, the Phab2 Pro is smartphone made out of coloration with Google and its own experts.

To make it a reality, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro features unprecedented 4 cameras, including a 16-megapixel RGB camera, a depth camera, a motion tracking camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It uses all of these cameras together along with 3D mapping technology to understand the world around you. Apart from this, the phablet flaunts a unibody metal design, and 6.4-inch QHD display with 2.5D curved glass.

Apart from this, the phablet flaunts a unibody metal design, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. For rich audio experience, it featured Dolby ATMOS with Dolby 5.1 Audio capture.

Lenovo Phab 2 Pro specifications and hardware isn’t very different from what we usually come across. It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset coupled with Adreno 510GPU and 4Gigs of RAM. The phabet comes with 64GB of internal storage and also supports microSD card expansion.

It is backed by a 4050mAh battery with fast charging support. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. For Tango based applications it comes with a separate app store. Phab Pro will be available in champagne gold and gunmetal grey color options at the start of September. Lenovo has priced Phab 2 Pro at $499 which roughly translate to Rs. 33,499.
