TL; DR
  • The baseline iPhone 17, which is expected to share its hardware with the iPhone 16, could arrive in six colors.
  • The new entrant in the lineup, the iPhone 17 Air, might also be available in the vanilla Black and White finishes, along with two new colors.
  • The iPhone 17 Pro could be available in five colors: Black, White, Gray, Dark Blue, and Orange.

Thanks to Setsuna Digital, we now have a good look at what may be the official iPhone 17 colorways. While we have renders for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro models, the iPhone 17 Plus is missing, which solidifies rumors about its departure from the lineup to make way for the slimmest iPhone (or the iPhone 17 Air, as we’re referring to it).

iPhone 17 Might Be Available In Six Colors

iPhone 17 renders

The baseline iPhone 17, which is expected to share its hardware with the iPhone 16, could arrive in six colors: Black, White, Steel Gray, Green, Purple, and Light Blue. The first two — Black and White — are pretty much the standard finishes we’ve seen on iPhones for years. The next one, i.e., Steel Gray, could be the unique or signature finish for the standard iPhone.

The other three colors, including Green, Purple, and Light Blue, appear to be lighter shades of the iPhone 16 finishes. While I love the Ultramarine finish of the iPhone 16, the iPhone 17 could tone the color’s saturation down (something similar might happen with the other two colors).

iPhone 17 Air Could Get Four Finishes

The new entrant in the lineup, the iPhone 17 Air, might also be available in the vanilla Black and White finishes, along with two new colors: Light Gold and Light Blue. Both the pastel shades look exceptionally premium, and I’m very much excited to see these colors in real life, with the iPhone’s matte-glass back finish and textured aluminum frame.

We also have renders of the iPhone 17 Pro colorways, which corroborate the presence of a dual-tone back panel, where the camera module occupies roughly a third of the length, and the rest of the back panel features a slightly different finish. These renders corroborate the rumors about the change in the iPhone 17 Pro’s design language.

iPhone 17 Pro Looks Different In The Vibrant Orange Finish

iPhone 17 Pro renders

So, the iPhone 17 Pro could be available in five colors: Black, White, Gray, Dark Blue, and Orange. Again, we’ve seen the first three colors in some form or another on Apple’s products, and quite frankly, the fourth one looks familiar as well. However, it is the Orange finish that we’re the most skeptical about.

Typically, Apple doesn’t release its iPhone in such bright and vibrant finishes (except the Pink and Ultramarine on the iPhone 16 lineup). However, we’ve also heard about the orange colorway in the past, which lends credibility to the latest rumors.

Moreover, the iPhone 17 lineup appears to be quite diverse in terms of colors, and we’re excited to see these in person when the smartphones are unveiled in September.
