New Launch: Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition; Here’s everything you need to know

Xiaomi has officially launched its first set of laptops in the India- the Mi Notebook 14, and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition. Both these laptops from the Chinese tech giant aren’t the rebranded versions of laptops from their existing portfolio in China.

With the launch of these two laptops Xiaomi will be taking on Asus, Lenovo, HP, and to take the number one spot in laptops maker in India. Here’s everything you need to know about these two laptops:

Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition

Let’s start with the Horizon Edition Mi Notebook 14. The Horizon version of Mi Laptop flaunts an aluminium and magnesium alloy built metal chassis.

The Mi Horizon laptop claims to feature a 14-inch FHD panel within a 13-inch laptop body. The display 3mm thick bezels on three sides. The display itself is referred to as Horizon display.

As per Xiaomi, the laptop display has an IPS panel with 91% screen-to-body ratio and 178-degree viewing angle. The display has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 1000:1 contrast ratio and can touch 250 nits of brightness.

The Mi Horizon 14 Laptop has 17.15mm thin sleek body and it weighs at 1.35Kg.

On the internal front, Xiaomi ropes in Intel’s latest 10th-Gen CometLake processors (Core i7-10510U) which is paired with the Nvidia GeForce MX350 GPU. The Intel Processor can touch up to clock speed of 4.9GHz. The GPU comes with 2GB of VRAM.

Xiaomi claims its laptop is ideal for productivity, gaming, designing & editing, and regular day-to-day tasks.

The laptop hardware also includes 8GB of (2666MHz) DDR4 RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD with transfer rates of 3000MB/s.

The Mi laptop comes with a 46Wh battery, which, can last up to 10 hours on a single charge, as per the company claims. It supports 65W fast charging and the charger comes bundled within the box. Xiaomi claims that with bundled charger one can refill 50% in around 30 minutes.

On the connectivity front, the Mi Horizon 14 supports dual-band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, 2x USB 3.1, 1x USB 2.0, an audio jack, and Type-C (for charging and data transfer).

The Mi Notebook comes pre-loaded with Windows 10 Home Edition and comes with a one month trial of Office 365.

Mi NoteBook 14

Apart from the Horizon Edition model, there’s also Mi Notebook 14 which is more affordable and comes in three different configuration options to choose from.

Just like the Horizon laptop, the Mi NoteBook 14 also houses a 14-inch FHD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Though, unlike the Mi Notebook 14, this one has Mi WebCam HD built-in on the top of the screen.

The Mi Notebook 14 laptop is driven by 10th-Gen Intel i5 processor, which is paired with 8GB of RAM. Xiaomi is offering in two storage options: 256GB or 512GB of onboard SSD. Similarly, there are two GPU versions are on offer: Intel Graphics 620 and much powerful Nvidia GeForce MX250. It also comes with a 10-hour battery with fast charging support. It also comes pre-installed Windows 10 Home Edition operating system.

Mi NoteBook 14: Pricing and Availability

The Mi NoteBook 14 base variant with intel i5 processor, 256GB SSD and Intel Graphics 620 is priced at Rs 41,999. The 512GB SSD and Intel Graphics 620GPU variant of the Mi Notebook 14 is priced at Rs 44,999. Max out version of the laptop while 512GB SSD and Nvidia GeForce MX250 are priced at Rs 47,999.

The Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition, on the other hand, is offered with i5 and i7 processors options which are priced at Rs 54,999 and Rs 59,999 respectively.
