Many consumers have been eagerly awaiting JioFiber services which were earlier expected to go official sometime around Diwali this year. Now, a new report from Business standards claims that Jio will finally launch its Home Broadband in 30 cities ‘Early next year’. The report also claims that Jio’s broadband services will be clubbed together TV services, which sounds credible as Jio already has multi-service operator license.

Jio is already testing its Broadband services in 10 cities where it’s providing a special router for a refundable fee of Rs. 4500. The JioFiber Preview Offer is allegedly free as of now and offers up to 1GBps speed.

In the first phase of JioFiber and TV rollout, the company will connect over 50 million households and expects to eventually earn Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 average revenue per month from subscribers. To support this vast magnitude of the project, Jio has already laid more than 3 Lakh kilometers of optical fiber. The operational area also includes tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

In Phase II, the company will connect high-rise residential apartments and commercial establishments and connect over 100 locations by December.

Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani earlier mentioned JioFiber as the next step in its digital revolution during the JioPhone launch without divulging many details. More recently, he mentioned that the JioFiber will be the next big monetization opportunity for the company and its shareholders and that most required infrastructure was already in place.
