OTT Platforms have become a very substantial part of our lives these days. Now, one more player is gearing up to enter this competitive arena to give audiences an even wider array of content to choose from. We are talking about Jio Cinema, which is rumored to be renamed to JioVoot soon. Earlier we revealed how Jio Cinema will no longer be a free app post-IPL 2023. There were also reports that Jio Cinema and Voot might get together and offer subscription plans for JioVoot App. Now, these plans have been tipped.

Jio Cinema Premium/ JioVoot App: Subscription plans

3 plans have been revealed-

The Rs. 99 Gold Plan- will support 2 devices and will be valid for 3 months. The original price of the plan is shown to be Rs. 299 and it is being offered at Rs. 99 after a discount of 67%.

The Rs. 2 Daily Plan- will support 2 devices and will be valid for a day. The original price of the plan is shown to be Rs. 29 and it is being offered at Rs. 2 after a discount of 93%.

The 599 Platinum Plan- will support 4 devices and will allow ad-free content(except for the livestream). Its price is shown to be Rs. 1199 and it is being offered at Rs. 599 after a discount of 50%.

This might be the introductory price of the plans for a few months till Jio Cinema wants to attract customers to its platform.

All 3 plans will include the content of 4K quality and the payment can be made using UPI as well. Users will be able to subscribe directly from the app on their TVs. The official announcement is expected soon.

Jio Cinema Premium/JioVoot App: Brand ambassador

The captain of the men’s cricket team Rohit Sharma has been signed as the brand ambassador for the Jio Cinema App. He will work with the team at the OTT platform, collaborating on their vision that focuses on making sports viewing even better.

For this season IPL 2023 is streaming free on Jio Cinema app. It has recorded a peak viewership of over 2.4 crores.

Paramount content to stream on the JioVoot app?

Paramount Picture division might soon be bringing its content to India. Paramount Plus will launch in India soon (most probably in May) and it is being speculated that the company will partner with Reliance Jio and merge its content into the Jio Cinema App.

Tulsa King might be the first show to roll out on the app before a dedicated Paramount section is created on the app. Earlier Paramount had confirmed that it will come to India with Viacom18, however, the app was not revealed. Now, the merger finally might be solidifying.

JioVoot Vs other OTT Apps: Plans Comparison

App Name
NetflixRs. 149/month mobile onlyRs. 199/month basic
Amazon Prime VideoRs. 179/monthRs. 1499/year
Disney+HotstarRs. 299/monthRs. 1499/ year

So, if these introductory prices are true, then Jio Cinema Premium is all set to give tough competition to the existing OTT platforms in the market.

In other news, Amazon Prime Video might soon be rebranding to Amazon TV. A report by Okay Tech claims that some internal surveys have been conducted among the staff and members and the streaming platform might soon change its name to Amazon TV. Other names considered were Amazon Stream, Amazon+, Amazon Streaming, and Amazon Premium. The move might be about making the platform a ‘Freemium Service’.
