Taiwanese research firm TrendForce has predicted that Apple will unveil its next-generation iPhones next month This is what the organization expects for the devices.

TrendForce said its latest investigations indicate that iPhone 13 models are expected to have a faster, more energy-efficient 5nm+ chip called A15 Bionic, support for mmWave 5G in other countries besides the U.S., and space-saving internal circuitry. It was previously rumored that these features would appear.

iPhone 13 Features (expected)

There have been plenty of leaks about the iPhone 13, but there is almost no information about its camera. According to Bloomberg, upcoming iPhones will have bokeh video features similar to the iPhone’s image bokeh implementation. There will also be a Pro-res video mode that allows for the recording of higher quality footage. Also, a new filter mode will improve the color and appearance of photos.

The iPhone 13 Pro will have the same design language as the current version. However, it is going to see a few changes here and there. As with the other iPhone models, the upcoming iPhone 13 Pro will feature a notch. In order to accomplish this, a single module will contain a flood illuminator, sensor, and dot projector. The earpiece will also be moved to the top. Digitimes reports that the die size of the VSCEL chip used in the Face-ID system will shrink by 40 percent to 50 percent.

Digital Times reports that the iPhone 13 could be upgraded to a larger battery without a bigger chassis. According to the publication, upcoming iPhones will use integrated passive devices (IPDs) for peripheral iPhone chips. The new chipsets are said to be slimmer than their predecessors. The report did not mention what iPhones will receive IPD’s, leaving more room to put in bigger batteries. The report did reveal, however, that Apple has approved TSMC’s sixth-generation manufacturing process for these IPDs. One of these chipsets could be used in the iPhone 13 Pro. With the iPhone 13 Pro, the battery capacity will increase from 2815mAh on the iPhone 12 Pro to 3,095mAh. This isn’t a huge upgrade, but it should offer better battery life when paired with the upcoming A15 Bionic chipset. The TSMC A15 chipset for the iPhone 13 has already begun production. The chipset will also use a 5nm manufacturing process, similar to the A14 Bionic. A 1TB storage option may also be available for the iPhone 13 Pro.

According to reports, iPhone 13 Pro will have a six-element lens instead of the five-element lens on iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. Ming-Chi Kuo, a reputed analyst, predicts the ultrawide lens on the iPhone 13 Pro will receive autofocus for the first time. In addition, the primary camera lens will be an f/1.5 lens, unlike the current f/1.6 lens. A night shot or bokeh image will benefit immensely from this change. All iPhone 13 models will have a LiDAR sensor and sensor-shift stabilization.

There will be a larger coil included for faster wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. EverythingApplePro in a YouTube video mentioned that the increase in size might improve heat management and lead to higher wattage support. This, in turn, means that we may see fast wireless charging on upcoming iPhone 13 models.

iPhone 13 Price and Launch date (expected)

According to TrendForce, the iPhone 13 series will be priced similarly to the iPhone 12 series, assuming Apple can effectively control manufacturing costs, due to the lack of many significant hardware upgrades. The iPhone 12 series was announced in October last year, likely due to pandemic-related delays, but Apple will return to a September release for the iPhone 13 series this year.

Following the launch of the iPhone 13 series, TrendForce expects iPhone shipments to continue to grow in the third quarter of 2021.
