Telecom equipment and smartphone manufacturer Huawei has officially launched its Huawei Y9s smartphone in the country. Like all previous Y-series phones, the Y9s is also offered as a mid-tier phone targetting youth.

Huawei Y9s Price in India and availability

Huawei has priced the Y9s at Rs 19,990 for 6GB + 128GB storage variant. The phone will go on sale on Amazon India from 19th May. As a part of the introductory offers, Amazon is offering Rs 1000 as Amazon Pay cashback, up to 9 months no-cost EMI, and an additional exchange value of Rs 1500.

Huawei Y9s Features

Just like the Huawei Y9, the Y9s also features an uninterrupted screen. The Huawei Y9s houses a 6.59-inch FHD+ Ultra FullView display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 391PPI and about 91-percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Huawei Y9s is driven by an octa-core Kirin 710F SoC paired with 6 gigs of memory and 128GB internal storage. Huawei has used its EROFS super file compression technology for faster Read and Write speeds. It also supports media expansion up to 512GB via a microSD card slot. Huawei is offering the Y9s in Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal colors.

As for optics, the Y9s features a triple rear camera setup led by a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture lens, teamed with an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

There is a 16-megapixel sensor fitted in a motor-driven pop-up module. Huawei has extended its night mode for the selfie camera and this should hopefully result in improved low light selfie shots.

The Huawei Y9s comes running on EMUI 9.1 out of the box based on Android 9 Pie. It comes with Google Play Services and Playstore too. The 4000mAh battery supports 10W charging. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which as per Huawei can unlock the device in 0.3 seconds.
