Huawei is one brand that has been trying to position its self in the same league as the Samsung, Apple, and Google, with some success too. The Chinese smartphone maker has taken some rapid strides in the last couple of years churning out devices like innovative phones like Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro. It isn’t limiting its R&D workforce to just cameras. Huawei recently filed a design patent with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) that suggest another means to achieve a full-screen design without notch or punch holes in the display.

According to the new Huawei patent, the smartphone will have a full-screen design without any notches as the selfie camera is accommodated in the rounded top edge. Currently, most phones have a flat top and bottom edges, with this new design Huawei hopes that the forehead will provide enough space to include a camera and few sensors.

If render submitted for the patent is anything to go by, there won’t be any change on the rear side. The images show a dual camera set up at the back with flash and fingerprint sensor alongside it.

Recently, Huawei also patented a slider camera design as well.  A few Pop-up camera phones, including Huawei P Smart Z and Honor 20, are underway too.
