Chinese smartphone and telecom equipment maker Huawei seems to be making all the right noises in 2018. After topping the charts on DxOmark camera test with Huawei P20 Pro, the company is reportedly working on another project which has the potential to disrupt the mobile phone market. According to Korean ETnews, Huawei is working on a foldable display phone. For the development of this handset, it has reportedly partnered with BOE, a leading display manufacturer in China.

At present, not much is known about this upcoming phone as it is in the nascent stage of development. According to the report, Huawei aims to launch its foldable display phone sometime in November this year. With this phone, the company will be competing with Samsung Electronics that’s also in the race to launch world’s first foldable display smartphone.

Huawei’s partner BOE is reportedly working with two more companies on four different smartphone designs. The other two manufacturers could be Xiaomi, Oppo, Lenovo or ZTE. In fact, Oppo recently has filed a patent for its own version of a flexible handset. Lenovo and ZTE, on the other hand, have experimented with flexible devices in the past.
