HTC has launched a new dual camera phone, U11 EYEs, where the Eye moniker refers to this being a selfie-centric phone and the ‘s’ is because HTC is using two selfie snappers. The rest of the phone can be considered a trimmed down mid-range version of flagship HTC U11+.

The U11 EYEs has initially been introduced in Taiwan and China.

HTC U11 EYEs Features

The U11 EYEs sticks to the newfound HTC strengths like Active Edge Sense (or squeeze-able side edges) and U Sonic audio headphones that can tune themselves, and water resistance (IP67).

The U11 EYEs is powered by Snapdragon 652 octa-core chipset (yup, the same one that we saw in LeEco Le 2 in mid-2016) paired with 4GB RAM that drives the 6-inch 18:9 SLCD 3 Full HD+ display.

Two areas where U11 EYEs tries to outshine other HTC phones are Selfies and Battery. There are two 5MP sensors with f/2.2 aperture lens and 80-degree wide view on the front and together they can be used to shoot bokeh selfies.

You can also have some fun with AR stickers in still images (works for both front and rear cameras). Then there is live video beautification, HDR Boost, and 1080p video recording. On the rear, you will find a 12MP (Ultrapixel) camera with OIS, f/1.7 aperture optics, and dual LED flash.

The phone houses a 3930mAh battery within its 8.5mm thick body and supports QuickCharge 3.0. Other features include 64GB internal memory, rear fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, and NFC. On the software front, the handset is still running Android Nougat based Sense UI.

HTC U11 EYEs Price and Availability

For now, the U11 EYEs will retail only in China and Taiwan where it’s available in Black, Silver, and Red color options. The price is CNY 3,299 or roughly Rs. 32,000. There is no official word on Global roll-out yet.
