Honor Band 5 with Blood Oxygen Tracker and Bluetooth 5.0 goes official

Honor Band 5 is the new wearable from the Huawei sub-brand. It was launched alongside the Honor 9X series in China. It looks similar to the Honor Band 4. But the company has added new features like Blood Oxygen tracker and Bluetooth 5.0 support to this health and fitness wear. Let’s see what else it has to offer.

Honor Band 5 features

Honor Band 5 sports a 0.95-inch color AMOLED display with 120 x 240-pixels resolution. The dial is rectangle-shaped with 8 dial themes. You can view SMS messages, WeChat, and QQ chat notifs, etc. Further, you also get Stranger number identification and intelligent scene reminder.

As a health cum fitness tracker, you get an optical heart rate monitor with TruSeen 3.5 heart rate tracking technology. Honor has included a SpO2 sensor for tracking blood oxygen saturation.

Well if you’re wondering, yes the band is 5ATM water-resistant up to 50m. You get stroke recognition while swimming, which is one of the 10 sport modes.

There is an NFC variant with which you can make payments. It boasts payments at buses across 252 cities. It also claims to support analog bus cards which lets you remove, recover and relocate traffic cards.

Honor Band 5 packs a 100mAh battery cell.

Honor Band 5 Price and Availability

Honor Band 5 Standard Edition retails in China via JD.com at CNY 190 or roughly Rs. 1,907.09 while the NFC edition will arrive on July 29 at CNY 220 or roughly Rs. 2,208.16. Honor is yet to unveil the global (including India) launch details.
