Honor 5X with metal body, fingerprint sensor and Snapdragon 616 launched in India at Rs. 12,999

Huawei’s subsidiary Honor has finally introduced a new mid-range budget phone 5X in India. This successor of Honor 4X will retail on Amazon and Flipkart for 12,999 INR. Pre-order starts from 28th January and sales start from 1st February, 2016.

In terms of specifications, the Honor 5x flaunts a 5.5-inch IPS display at the front with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. At the heart of it streams a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset of which four Cortex A53 cores are ticking at 1.5GHz and remaining four are clocked at 1.2GHz. The chipset is supported by Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. Honor 5X comes with built-in storage of 16GB which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

For smartphone photography lover, Honor has packed in a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, 22mm wide-angle lens and blue glass IR filter. Similarly for selfie lovers, Honor 5X features a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture 4P lens, 22mm wide-angle lens, blue glass filter and 88-degree wide shooting range.

The Honor 4X successor sports a 3000mAh battery and is equipped with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which can refill 50 percent battery in just 30 minutes. The company has also added a fingerprint sensor at the back of Honor 5X which unlocks the device in just 0.5 seconds, as per the company claims. In terms of connectivity options, it includes 4G LTE (FDD and TDD), Dual SIM, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The phone comes out of the box running on EMUI 3.1 which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Alongside, 5X Honor also launched Holly 2 Plus in keeping budget users in mind. The Holly 2 Plus is equipped with a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC, Mali 720 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. It houses a 5-inch HD IPS display and features a 4,000mAh large battery to power it. The exterior of the phone are made of polycarbonate and back panel has a feather like texture on it. The dual SIM phone supports dual stand by 4G LTE, 3G, CDMA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS andMicro USB as connectivity options. Just like Honor X5 it will be available on both Flipkart and Amazon for Rs. 8,499.

Both the phones comes with 15 months manufacturer warranty and rooted devices will also be repaired or replaced by Honor for free in this period.
