HMD, a global brand, has officially introduced the HMD Fusion smartphone in India. After a period of anticipation and teasing, the device is now available in the market. The HMD Fusion features a modular design, equipped with a six-pin connector on its rear, allowing for innovative cases that enhance the phone’s functionality. HMD refers to these cases as ‘smart outfits.’ Each outfit is designed to modify both the software and hardware experiences of the device, unlocking new features, distinctive interfaces, and improved performance, according to HMD’s claims.

HMD Fusion: Price & Availability
The HMD Fusion is available in one storage option featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, priced at Rs. 17,999. It is offered in black color with a tech block design and includes complimentary outfits: HMD Casual, HMD Flashy, and HMD Gaming, valued at Rs. 5,999.
The product will be available for Rs. 15,999 for a limited time through Amazon and HMD.com, starting from November 29th at 12:01 PM.

The available cases and outfits consist of a Casual Outfit, a Flashy Outfit, and a Gaming Outfit, each designed to meet various functional and aesthetic needs of users. To elevate the experience of the HMD Gaming Outfit, HMD has collaborated with Digital Turbine and Aptoide in India. This collaboration will introduce the Aptoide game store to HMD Fusion, providing users with access to some of the top mobile games globally.
The Aptoide store will feature a dedicated section titled “Play with your HMD Gaming Outfit,” allowing users to download games specifically designed for their controllers. Thanks to Digital Turbine’s SingleTap technology, HMD users can expect a smooth game discovery process and effortless installation.
DT and Aptoide have collaborated since 2022, utilizing their respective technologies to create innovative distribution solutions for mobile operators, OEMs, and app developers. HMD stated, “In conjunction with the HMD Fusion Gaming setup, which includes physical buttons and joysticks for accurate gameplay, this partnership turns the device into a paradise for gaming fans.”
HMD Fusion features Gen2 repairability, allowing for straightforward repairs of the display, back cover, battery, and charging port with just a screwdriver. This design minimizes electronic waste and enhances the device’s longevity.

HMD Fusion features a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display that offers a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. It is equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, complemented by an Adreno 613 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Additionally, the storage capacity can be increased by up to 1TB using a microSD card. The device operates on Android 14 and is supported by three years of security updates along with two operating system upgrades.
The device features a 108MP rear camera equipped with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and a 2MP portrait camera complemented by an LED flash. For selfies, it boasts a 50MP front-facing camera. Powering the HMD Fusion is a robust 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The smartphone is rated IP54 for water and dust resistance and has dimensions of 164.15 x 75.5 x 8.32 mm. Weighing in at 202.5 grams, it offers a variety of connectivity options, including 5G, Dual VoLTE 4G, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port.
