HiSense E6N Review – Setup & Design
I received a review unit and decided to set up the TV in my living room using the included stands. The setup was straightforward, and the TV, which weighs about 7.4 kg with the stands, was easy to handle. Since the E6N runs on Google TV, getting it up and running was a breeze. All it took was connecting to my Wi-Fi, entering my Google ID and password, and I was good to go.
Installing and updating the built-in apps was smooth and quick, taking only about 15-20 minutes. The TV supports dual-band Wi-Fi, which allows me to connect to my 5GHz network without any issues.
The Hisense E6N LED TV features slim bezels all around giving it a sleek modern look. By opting for the raised screen design, the HiSense manages to keep the TV side profile 8mm slim but this is a design choice that exposes the panel to accidents. The build quality feels solid and well-constructed, with most of the back made of metal. The plastic stand at the bottom is sturdy and provides solid support for the TV. While the tabletop stand comes in the box, HiSense decided not to include the mounting kit in the box. If you would like to mount your TV on the wall, you can ask Hisense to installation and ask the technician to carry the wall brackets.
Frequently used ports are side-facing but positioned towards the center, which means they will be a tad difficult to access when the TV is wall-mounted. In terms of ports, the E6N has three HDMI ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one LAN port, one 3.5mm jack, one Optical digital audio (SPDIF) port and one RF-Radio frequency input.
HiSense E6N Review – Remote
The Hisense remote that comes with the E6N is a win in my book. The remote features buttons for voice commands, home, and volume controls, along with dedicated buttons for popular OTT apps like Netflix, SonyLIV, Disney+ Hotstar, and YouTube. This setup makes it super convenient to jump straight into your favorite streaming services with just a single press. It’s also ergonomic and fits comfortably in the palm. White color D-pad makes it easy to navigate even when you are sitting in a dark setting.
HiSense E6N Review – Software and Hardware
This Hisense TV has a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage (with 5.6GB available for users). We did notice some occasional stutters when skipping through content or switching between apps, but that’s pretty normal for affordable and midrange TVs. Overall, it feels pretty snappy for the price.
The TV runs on the Google TV platform based on Android 12, with some added customizations. You can access quick settings and shortcuts using the input key. The Google TV interface integrates smoothly with Google services and apps on smartphones. You can use the virtual remote in the Google TV app, manage your watchlist directly from your PC browser, and even download apps directly to your TV from your phone. Google Assistant and Alexa are both supported on the TV.
You can cast videos from your Android phone or Apple iPhone from popular apps like Netflix, YouTube, and more. Apple AirPlay and Homekit are also supported to easily mirror your screen from Apple devices. The software doesn’t have much unnecessary stuff, and Hisense added useful settings to let users adjust picture quality on the TV.
HiSense E6N Review – Picture Quality
The E6N comes with a standard LED display and a VA panel, which is pretty much what you’d expect at this price point. The contrast ratio stands at an impressive 3817:1, giving you deep blacks that are great for dark room viewing. However, the peak brightness is capped at around 300 nits in Dynamic mode, which means HDR content might not pop the way it would on higher-end models. It’s bright enough for most well-lit rooms, but don’t expect it to dazzle in a sun-filled living space.
Color accuracy is decent, but if you’re someone who nitpicks over color grading, you might notice that it’s not quite perfect. There’s also the issue of viewing angles—thanks to the VA panel, colors and contrast start to shift when you’re watching from the side. And, while the sharpness is commendable, there are moments where the picture can feel a bit over-sharpened, which might not be to everyone’s taste.
When it comes to HDR, the E6N delivers a mixed bag. HDR10 content looks decent, especially considering the TV’s price tag. It’s not the most dynamic or vibrant, but it gets the job done for casual viewing. However, if you’re expecting Dolby Vision to be a game-changer, you might be disappointed. The performance here is underwhelming, with issues like overbrightening and crushed blacks detracting from the experience. You’ll find yourself frequently diving into the settings to tweak the picture just to get it to a satisfactory level.
For gamers, the Hisense E6N includes some handy features like VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). In Game Mode, the TV is responsive, making it a decent option for casual gaming. However, both HDR and SDR visuals can appear washed out, with a lack of contrast that might leave serious gamers yearning for something more immersive. It’s fine for a quick gaming session, but if you’re into competitive or visually demanding games, this might not be the best choice.
HiSense E6N Review – Sound
The audio from the 24-watt speaker is loud but flat. The bass lacks sharpness, and the dialogue clarity is also average. For a better audio experience, you will need to invest in a soundbar.
Review Verdict: Should You Buy the HiSense E6N?
Smartprix Rating: 7.5/10
Design and Build: 8/10
SDR Performance: 6.5/10

The Hisense E6N is a budget-friendly TV with many cool features. It works great in bright rooms and does everything you need it to. The remote is super comfy and has all the important functions. The picture quality could be better, though. The HDR isn’t very impressive, but that’s kind of expected for the price.
