Sunny Leone Tops Google Trends Chart In India For Second Consecutive Year

Every year Google shares its year in search results and reveals top trends for the year. This year ICC cricket world cup was the top trend, followed by blockbuster Bahubali, and interestingly Sunny Leone still remains the most searched personality for the second year in a row!

Talking of smartphones, Yureka was the most searched smartphone in India this year. Lenovo’s 4G success is also conspicuous in the charts.

Compared to last year, PM Narendra Modi slips to 10th slot from 2nd in 2015. Salman Khan and his movies topping the search trend speaks volumes about his fan following and star stature in India.

Vyapam Scam was the most searched news event this year. Nepal earthquake, 7th Pay Commission, and Sheena Bora murder case convict Indrani Mukherjee also made it to the list.

Rajan Anandan, VP and Managing Director, Google India & South Asia said, “The 2015 Year in Search results is very much a reflection of India’s undying love for cricket and entertainment. The power of digital media continues to surge, especially searches on smartphones, a trend that is reflective of India’s growing digital emergence as the next billion Indians begin to embrace the power of the Internet.”
