Google has officially launched the Google Pixel 9 series in India, including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. This new lineup comes with some upgrades and features that cater to different user needs. You’ve also got more models this year. Here’s a detailed look at what each model offers.
Google Pixel 9 Series Pricing and Availability
The entire Google Pixel 9 series will be available exclusively via Flipkart. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will also be available on the Google India online store. Offline, you can find the Google Pixel 9 series on Reliance Digital and Croma stores.

The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL pre-orders will start tomorrow i.e., August 14. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, however, will be available in September.
Google Pixel 9 Specs
The Pixel 9 has a similar camera visor design to that of the Pixel 9 Pro with the same flat sides and the flat display. It has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and an aluminum frame on the sides. The rear is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
On the display side of things, the Pixel 9 features a 6.3” Actua OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It has a peak brightness of 3000 Nits and an HDR brightness of 2000 Nits.
Under the hood, the Google Pixel 9 is powered by the Tensor G4 SoC and the Titan M2 security chip. This is accompanied with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The rear cameras include a 50 MP main sensor and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. There’s also a 10.5 MP front camera. All the lenses can shoot in 4K at 60 fps. For the battery, the Pixel 9 packs in a 4600 mAh cell with support for 27W wired charging, 18W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
The Pixel 9 boots into Android 14 out of the box with Android 15 to be coming soon. It will get seven generations of OS upgrades, feature drops, and security updates, too. Plus, Google has also included some new AI features for the Pixel 9 as well. The Google Pixel 9 is available in four colorways: Obsidian, Porcelain, Wintergreen, and Peony.

Google Pixel 9 Pro & 9 Pro XL Specs
The Pixel 9 Pro has a 6.3” Super Actua OLED LTPO display, with 120 Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The display has an HDR brightness of 2000 Nits and a peak brightness of 3000 Nits. The Pixel 9 Pro XL has the same display but with a larger 6.8” footprint.
The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL are also powered by the Tensor G4 and Titan M2 security chip, with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of storage (only 256 GB for the Pro). Both phones have IP68 ingress protection and an aluminum frame, just like the vanilla model.
The rear setup includes a 50 MP main sensor, a 48 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48 MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. The front camera is 42 MP. All four cameras support 4K video at 60 fps.
The Pixel 9 Pro has a 4,600 mAh with 25W wired and 23W wireless charging. The Pixel 9 Pro XL has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W wired and 23W wireless charging. Both devices support reverse wireless charging.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL are available in four colorways: Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, and Rose Quartz.
Both models come with Android 14 and Google’s promise of seven years of OS updates, feature drops, and security updates. Satellite connectivity and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor are standard across the series.
Google Pixel 9 Series AI Features
- Add Me: This feature makes sure everyone’s in the group photo. You’ll merge two photos; it’s an upgrade to the Best Take feature.
- Pixel Studio: It’ll allow you to create and remix images with AI, kind of like Apple’s Image Playground but better integrated.
- Reimagine: This will convert objects in your photos into different elements using generative AI.
- Pixel Screenshots: Adds metadata to screenshots, so you can search for them based on content using natural language.
- AI Weather App: This feature will give you weather summaries and tell you what to wear.
