The Pixel 9 series is set to debut at the Made by Google launch event on August 13, 2024. Ahead of the launch, we know pretty much everything about the smartphones in the lineup. Instead of two, there are going to be three models in the Pixel 9 series. They’ll ship with a revamped design, the new Tensor G4 chipset, better cameras, and new Google AI features (that could debut alongside the handsets in the event). Ahead of the launch, the regional introductory offers for the Pixel 9 series have appeared on the internet, and they look quite promising.

Pixel 9 Series Could Debut With Free Storage Upgrade In France

Dealabs, a French publication, has leaked the introductory offers for the Pixel 9 series. From what it looks like, the handsets in the upcoming smartphone series will be up for pre-orders between August 13 (the day Google holds its launch event) and September 5. During this time, customers will reportedly get a free storage bump. In other words, they’ll get the 256GB variant for the price of the 128GB variant. This particular offer should apply to the Pixel 9 models, including the vanilla Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Google Could Also Offer Exchange Bonuses Up To EUR 200

Further, those who want to trade in their older smartphone should get an exchange bonus of EUR 150 for the regular Pixel 9 and EUR 200 for the Pixel 9 Pro/9 Pro XL. Given that the upcoming Pixel 9 series is rumored to be expensive, a free storage bump and additional exchange discount can lure in a lot of customers, even those who often wait a few months after a smartphone launch to get it at a discounted price.

For instance, the rumored price of the vanilla Pixel 9 was EUR 999. If we consider a free storage bump in terms of discount, it would save buyers EUR 100. Factoring in the EUR 150 exchange bonus, buyers should be able to get their hands on the new Pixel 9 for EUR 749. Similarly, the Pixel 9 Pro could be available for around EUR 899, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL could sell for EUR 999. If this is the actual pricing, the Pixel 9 could compete directly with the Galaxy S24 series and the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup.

Free YouTube Premium And Cloud Storage

The introductory storage bump and exchange bonus aren’t the only benefits listed by the French publication. It also states a free three-month subscription to YouTube Premium and Fitbit Premium, along with a six-month Google One Premium 2TB subscription for Pixel 9 and a 12-month subscription to Pixel 9 Pro/9 Pro XL buyers. Out of all, the Google One benefit applies to purchases made till November 2024.

While the introductory offers are quite enticing for the French market, there’s no guarantee that Google will launch the same offers in India. In fact, the Pixel smartphones are often launched at a premium price in the country (when compared to international pricing). However, Google has reportedly begun manufacturing trials of the Pixel phones (with Foxconn) in India. Hence, in the future, there could be a significant drop in the Indian pricing of smartphones. Whether the company lets it reflect in the listing price or increases the discounts is something we’ll find out.
