Google Pixel 6a tipped to launch at Rs 37,000 in India

Google Pixel 6a is incoming in India and if the reports are to be believed, we would get to see it by the end of this month. Just with the launch date, the pricing isn’t officially announced yet although there’s a strong inclination that the phone could carry a price tag of INR 37,000/- thanks to a tweet by a reputable tipster.

Google Pixel 6a Pricing and Availability in India

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Google Pixel 6a is expected to fetch a price tag of around INR 37,000/- in India. There have been a few reports before according to which, the phone is likely to have a INR 40,000/- price tag.  For context, the Google Pixel 6a is priced at $449 (or INR 35,100/-) for the 6+128GB variant in the US.

Google Pixel 6a is yet to make it to India even though it was made available globally at the Google I/O 2022. Although it is no surprise for Google to skip some of the Pixel models from arriving in India, it confirmed that the Pixel 6a would arrive on the Indian shores.

Google Pixel 6a Specifications

When it comes to the specs, Google Pixel 6a brings onboard a 6.1” OLED HDR FHD+ panel with a 429ppi density. There’s Corning Gorilla Glass 3 onboard. You get a Google Tensor 5nm chipset clocked at 2.80GHz of max frequency plus a Mali-G78 MP20 GPU. There’s UFS 3.1 128GB storage with 6GB RAM.

Pixel 6a brings an 8MP selfie camera with auto-HDR and FHD+ video recording. The rear assembly packs in a 12.2MP primary dual pixel PDAF with an OIS shooter. It comes flanked with a 12MP ultrawide snapper with 114° FoV arranged in a horizontal stack housed in a camera bump that goes extends from right to left.

The Google Pixel 6a draws its power from a Li-Po 4410 mAh battery with 18W of fast charging tech. There’s USB Type-C 3.1 for charging along with WiFi 6e, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, NFC, a stereo speaker, and no headphone jack. Globally, it is available in three colorways – Sage, Charcoal, and Chalk. It remains to be seen what colors are available for the Indian launch sometime by the end of this month.
