Search engine giant Google has finally taken the wraps off Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL on October 4. Sunder Pichai led team was really upbeat about the conglomeration of AI with software and Hardware as they talked about Google Pixel 2. These second-generation google Pixel phones come with water resistance IP68 certification, squeezable sides, and always-on display.
Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL Features
Google is offering the Pixel 2 in Two screen sizes: 5-inch and a 6-inch for XL version. The Pixel 2 sports a “full HD OLED” display with 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 441 PPI pixel density. The Pixel 2 XL, on the other hand, comes with is larger 6-inch POLED, QHD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 538 PPI pixel density.
Design-wise, the phone is pretty much what we have seen in various leaks. The phone comes with an aluminum body which hybrid coating. The Fascia of the Pixel 2 XL is mainly dominated by the display. The smaller Pixel variant has regular 16:9 display and the bigger Pixel 2 XL has a full vision 18:9 display. The phones come with front-facing stereo speakers as well.
The first generation Google Pixel at the time of its launch was rated best smartphone camera by DxoMark. Google has taken it a step forward. The Pixel 2 comes with a 12.2-megapixel rear camera along with f/1.8 aperture dual-pixel sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). It is the best-rated camera on a smartphone as per DxoMark. To put things in perspective, DxOmark rated iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at 94 whereas the Pixel 2 camera manage to score 98 on the same test.
Instead of going with dual camera setup, Google is using dual pixel sensor to offer iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 like portrait mode for blur background images. Both these Pixel phones come with an 8-megapixel selfie camera which also benefits from software enabled portrait mode. Unfortunately, audio jack didn’t make the cut.
Google Motion Photos is another addition which seems to be inspired from iPhone’s Live Photos feature. It automatically captures a three-second long clip with every image clicked. There were few other features like Google Lens and augmented reality based AR stickers which were showcased during the launch event.

Google Pixel 2 Price and Google Pixel 2 XL Price In India
The Google Pixel 2 will be available in the US, Australia, Germany, India, United Kingdom and Canada; pre-order starts tonight. The Pixel 2 priced at $649 (for 64GB) and $749 (for 128GB). Google Pixel 2 Price in India will be around Rs. 42,200 and Rs. 48,800 (approx.) for respective models. It will come in three colors: white, black, and kinda blue.
The Pixel 2 XL Price starts at $849 for 64GB and goes up to $949 for 128GB.
