Here’s all you need to know about the keynote presentation.

What can we expect?

Google will likely make some significant announcements at the event, including the launch of the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. Here are some details about what we can expect:

Google Pixel Fold

Google has officially announced the development of its first foldable device, which had long been rumored to be in progress. The device, known as the Pixel Fold, was unveiled via an image and video posted by the company last week. The Pixel Fold is designed to fold horizontally, resembling a book. While Google has not disclosed its full specifications, a previous report by CNBC suggests that it may feature a 5.8-inch display when closed and a 7.6-inch screen when unfolded, which is identical to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The Pixel Fold is expected to be powered by Google’s Tensor G2, which is the system-on-a-chip used by Pixel 7-series devices. It will likely feature 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. It could also come with USI 2.0 stylus support. As with other foldable devices on the market, the Pixel Fold is projected to be a costly investment, with CNBC indicating that it could exceed $1,700.

Google Pixel Tablet

The highly anticipated release of the Google Pixel Tablet will happen at the Google I/0 2023. Despite early images suggesting an underwhelming design, recent leaks showcase an aesthetically pleasing tablet that seamlessly integrates into the Pixel ecosystem, with various color options to choose from.

In addition to being a sleek tablet, the device comes with an inclusive charging dock and speaker that transforms it into a smart display similar to the Amazon Echo Show. Reports from reputable sources suggest that it will be powered by Google’s Tensor G2 chip, run on Android 13, boast 8GB of RAM, and feature an 11-inch display with a nano-ceramic finish.

An early listing for the Pixel Tablet on Amazon supports these reports, also indicating that it may possess two 8-megapixel cameras on both the front and back, three microphones, up to 256GB of storage, and USI 2.0 stylus compatibility. Pricing details are still unknown, although rumors suggest that it may cost between €600 to €650 in Europe, though it remains uncertain whether Google Pixel Tablet will come to India or not.

Google Pixel 7A

The upcoming Google Pixel 7A has been a hot topic for several months and has been the subject of numerous leaks. It is highly anticipated to make its debut at I/O. Smartprix earlier revealed an appealing sky-blue color option, along with a sneak peek of the device’s packaging. In fact, someone even managed to obtain the device in March.

Google Pixel 7a

The Pixel 7A is rumored to feature impressive specs, including the Tensor G2 chip, an improved 64MP primary camera, and a 13MP ultrawide camera. It may also introduce two features previously unseen in Google’s budget-friendly A-series devices: a 90Hz refresh rate and wireless charging support. However, these upgrades may come at a premium, as rumors suggest it could cost around Rs 40,000 in India.

Android 14

It is expected that Google I/O will shed more light on Android 14, which boasts enhancements that cater to foldables, tablets, and devices with larger screens. This aligns perfectly with the event’s introduction of the Pixel Fold. The beta version of Android 14 is already available, with the first iteration of the operating system released by Google last month.

Since the initial release, Google has been adding more features to Android 14, including a new back arrow that blends with the background, passkey support, better battery life, and enhanced privacy controls for your device’s media library. Furthermore, Android 14 is anticipated to introduce improved font scaling, paving the way for its public release later this year.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

At this year’s Google I/O, we might get a glimpse of the highly anticipated Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, although Google isn’t expected to officially launch the devices until later this year. Renders shared exclusively by Smartprix suggest a redesigned camera bar for the Pixel 8 Pro, with all three cameras in a single oval cutout, and a potential macro or depth sensor located beneath the flash. The standard Pixel 8, on the other hand, appears to have a camera setup similar to its predecessor.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Smartprix

The Pixel 8 Pro could come with a 6.52-inch display with more rounded corners, a hole-punch selfie camera, and 12GB of RAM, while the regular Pixel 8 will have a 6.2-inch screen with 8GB of RAM. There are also indications that the Pixel 8 series may have an exclusive Video Unblur tool to enhance the sharpness of videos.

Google Bard or other AI-related announcements

Anticipate AI-related announcements at Google’s I/O keynote, as the company focuses on artificial intelligence, including its ChatGPT rival, Bard. According to internal documents obtained by CNBC, the presentation will likely feature the launch of PaLM 2, the latest version of Google’s large language model that supports more than 100 languages.

The company has recently tested generative AI tools in Workspace, starting with Docs and Gmail. The report suggests that Google will expand these features to Sheets and Slides during I/O. Furthermore, Google may announce enhancements to Bard, which include generating, debugging, and explaining code, as well as “generative experiences” involving coding, math, and logic. These new features could support Japanese and Korean languages. Reports also suggest that new AI-powered search tools are forthcoming later this month.

Google I/O 2023 keynote presentation is set to be an exciting event. Attendees and virtual viewers can expect to learn about some of the company’s newest products, including the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet, the Pixel 7A, Android 14, and a possible preview of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. There’s also a possibility that Google may surprise us with a new Pixel Watch or a new color for the Pixel Buds A-series. In addition to its hardware launches, Google is likely to intersperse smaller announcements throughout the keynote, including updates to Maps, Photos, and Google Assistant. The company may also share news about its smart home products, as it continues to enhance features on its Google Home app.
