After Apple, Google is likely to kickstart production of its Pixel devices in India. According to Bloomberg News, those who are in the know of this matter said that Alphabet Inc’s Google is in talks with various smartphone manufacturing companies to produce Pixels in the country.

The report mentions Foxconn India’s Bharat FIG, Lava International and Dixon Technologies that are currently the headhunters as potential partners for production of Pixels in India.

India is quickly becoming a manufacturing hub of the world replacing China’s position on top and some of the reasons behind this tectonic shift is because of the COVID-19 pandemic and strict restrictions policies that were imposed in China.

Foxconn India Bharat FIH is currently producing iPhones in India. In fact, it is targeted to produce 25% of all iPhones by 2025 and the number is expected to double by 2027. At the moment, total iPhone production in India is between 5 to 7 percent according to Piyush Goyal. This is a huge jump from the 1% total iPhone produced in India in 2021.

This is great news for India as two of the major smartphone giants will be produced in the country improving its economy that will open up millions of new jobs among other benefits.
