Google is all set to host its annual developer conference, I/O 2025, from tonight. The Google I/O 2025 will be a two-day event spanning today and tomorrow and will be streamed live from Google’s Shoreline Amphitheatre. Last week, Google held an Android Show where it gave us a sneak peek into various announcements that will take place during I/O. Google I/O 2025: Livestreaming Details
Google I/O 2025 will kick off at 10 AM PT or 10:30 PM IST for those in India. The event will begin with a keynote by Sundar Pichai and be streamed on Google’s YouTube Channel, so you can watch it on a smartphone, a laptop, or a TV. The link for the same is embedded below.
After the keynote, there will be a technical developer keynote at 2 AM IST. The first day sessions will focus on AI, Android, Web Stage, and Cloud, and all these will be available for livestreaming from 4 AM onwards. The two-day sessions on AI, Android, Web, and Cloud will kick off tomorrow at 10:30 PM IST. All the videos will be available to replay after the livestream ends.
Google I/O 2025: Expected Announcements
Material 3 Expressive

Google gave us a glimpse at the new design language for Android, the Material 3 Expressive that focuses on making designs that feel good, make sense and help you get things done. The interface will connect with users on a deeper and emotional level. It will give Android 16 and WearOS 6 a new look.
Multi-platform Gemini
The Android Show confirmed that Gemini will soon be available on Wear OS, Google TV, Android Auto, and Android XR. This will ensure seamless multi-platform connectivity across Google’s ecosystem. Read more about it here.
Android XR

Android XR is also expected to be one of the highlights of the event. Despite no hardware supporting Android XR, the company has already given a hint about what all Gemini will be able to do. Google might showcase first hardware supporting Android XR which might be sunglasses looking similar to Ray-Bans.

Samsung’s Project Moohan

While Google has been tight-lipped about it, Project Moohan was spotted in the background during Android Show. Hence, we expect to learn more about it during I/O as it will launch sometime in the middle of 2025.
Updates for Nest Devices

Google hasn’t updated Nest devices since last four years and although nothing is confirmed yet, but I/O might see support rolling out for existing Nest devices.
Chromebooks, Tablets, & Desktop Mode

We are curious if Google will also talk about upcoming Chromebooks, tablets, or Android’s revamped Desktop Mode. The Desktop Mode made an appearance during the Android show, but nothing concrete can be said until Google officially talks about it.

New AI Plans

AI will be one of the major focuses of the event, and Google might roll out new AI plans to take advantage of its latest models. The Gemini Ultra plan might come to Google One tonight.
Project Mariner

Google will also detail what’s new with Project Mariner, AI Agent that it showcased at the end of 2024. Google says Mariner will deliver the future of human-agent interaction, with the agent able to undertake actions on a browser on behalf of the user. Actions like buying something online, booking tickets or searching for something.
