OPPO has released the ColorOS 16.0.2.401 update for the Find X9 (review) and Find X9 Pro (review), and this rollout should expand to more models soon. The update is one of the more feature packed ones in recent months, touching the camera, UI, connectivity, and general usability. Let’s take a look at the changes and what’s new.

Camera Updates

Camera upgrades are the biggest highlight. OPPO claims to have improved color performance in complex lighting, making images appear more natural. Exposure for night videos has been tuned for more stable brightness, and focus performance has been refined for specific scenes.

You can now edit photos and videos directly from the private safe without unlocking them. The collage feature gets a pop out mode that lets the subject step outside the frame for a playful effect.

Better Super Icons

There are also noticeable UI refinements. Super Icons now match the chosen icon shape. If your icon pack is set to circles, all super icons now appear circular on the top and bottom rows as well. The “SEARCH” button is now called “Search.”
