Canon and Fujifilm have launched new cameras to their respective lineups. Canon’s EOS RP is a full-frame mirrorless camera, successor to the EOS R. On the other hand, Fujifilm launched the X-T30, which is next in the lineup to X-T20. While Canon launches Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera at modest pricing, Fujifilm Brings Nostalgia to the Table. Let’s see what each of them has to offer.

Canon EOS RP

First and foremost, the camera has garnered attention for a full-frame experience in a compact and light body. It weighs around 485g (17.1 oz).

It carries a 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor, which brings Digic 8 image processor from the earlier EOS R and shoots at a lower 5FPS continuously, whereas the R could record at 8 FPS. You could capture 4K videos at an ISO range of 100-40,000.

Canon has kept the price much affordable with $1,300 (roughly Rs. 92,400) for just the body or $2,399 (roughly Rs. 1,70,600) with the RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM lens. This model will go on sale in March and pre-ordering has started.

Fujifilm X-T30

Fujifilm announced the X-T30 to its APS-C lineup, which is also a smaller, lighter, and aggressively priced flagship-grade camera. But more importantly, this successor to X-T20  brings the nostalgic factor. It sports an improved 26.1MP APS-C sensor powered by the 4 quad-core X-Processor.

Its hybrid AF system uses PDAF tech to auto-detect and autofocus 425 phase points. Apart from 100 percent coverage of the entire frame, it packs features like  EyeAF and a novel Face Selection feature. The camera benefits from 2.36 million dot resolution OLED EVF, a 3-inch tilting touchscreen display, 4K recording up to 30fps or 1080p recording up to 120fps, native Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support as well as a single SD card slot.

It would be on sale from March in black and silver trims at a price of $899 (around Rs. 63,900) for the body. And as for the lens, they come in two variants. You could grab XC15-45mm lens for $999 (around Rs. 71,000) or pay $1,299 (around Rs. 92,400) for the XF18-55mm lens. As a nice touch, Fujifilm gives color options for the camera and kit lenses. Starting from June 2019, they will be available in a new charcoal silver color.

On this new launch, the Japanese company has announced X series cameras called the FUJINON XF16mmF2.8 R WR. Thanks to a stepping motor, they facilitate quieter AF. You could grab them during their sale in March for $400 (roughly Rs. 28,400).

Fujifilm has also promised on future firmware updates bringing ‘Bright Mode’, ‘Portrait Enhancer’ mode, and a new ‘Night+’ setting alongside bug fixes and improvements.
