Tata Motors is working on a refreshed version of its previously launched Tata Tigor EV. The new model is likely to be called as 2022 Tata Tigor EV and has been spotted camouflaged on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The upcoming electric sedan is believed to be upgraded in battery efficiency.

2022 Tata Tigor EV Expectations

The 2022 Tata Tigor EV is highly anticipated to pack with a larger battery system compared to the Tigor EV’s original 26kWh pack. The company is said to do it by up to 10kWh by adding some extra cells.

This will help the company to achieve an improved range of 365km to 400km from the previous 306km certified range. Currently, the maker utilizes a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) powertrain that delivers a power of 55kW and a torque of 170Nm. The 2022 model may follow the same trait in the motor without any crucial updates.

If Tata Motors chose to enhance the battery capacity, the company will also have to bring a strengthened chassis to bear the further battery weight. In order, we can also see enhancements in the suspension and braking modules.

Designwise, the upcoming 2022 Tata Tigor EV may get a few cosmetic upgrades with distinctive colour schemes. The spotted model appears to have differently designed front grilles with new headlights and rear lamps. It might have slightly more ground clearance. The trims and cuts on the body are, however, not visible clearly to make any announcement.

Nonetheless, a clear picture of the features of said 2022 Tata Tigor EV will arrive in the following days and it could launch later this year.
