Tata Motors is gearing up to unveil its latest innovation, the all-electric Punch EV, tomorrow, marking its fourth foray into the electric vehicle market. Following the success of the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, and the widely acclaimed Nexon EV, the automaker is set to introduce this electric micro SUV with significant enhancements in both appearance and features. Beyond its electric powertrain, the 2024 Punch EV promises to be a game-changer in the electric vehicle landscape. Without delay, here are five key highlights to anticipate from Tata Motors’ upcoming electric marvel.

2024 Tata Punch EV: What to Expect

Inspired by the 2023 Nexon facelift, the Punch EV is set to showcase a refreshed design. Preliminary glimpses from various spy shots indicate notable changes, including a redesigned grille, the possibility of a full-width LED light bar, and updated LED headlights. The anticipated enhancements extend to new alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps, adding a touch of modernity to the upcoming electric vehicle.

Preliminary spy shots suggest that the Punch EV will feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system, potentially a 10.25-inch unit, accompanied by a distinctive two-spoke steering wheel adorned with the illuminated Tata logo. Further interior upgrades include the introduction of a rotary gear knob with an integrated display. The cabin is expected to offer diverse colour schemes, aligning with the trend observed in Tata’s recent vehicle releases. This combination of technological enhancements and aesthetic choices is poised to elevate the Punch EV’s driving experience.

Anticipated to come equipped with advanced features, the Punch EV is poised to elevate its driving experience with additions like a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake featuring auto-hold functionality, and a modern digital driver’s display. The inclusion of six airbags, hinted at by a Bharat NCAP crash test image, emphasizes the vehicle’s commitment to safety.

Building on the success of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, the Punch EV is expected to retain sought-after features, including automatic climate control, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, and electronic stability control. These features underscore Tata Motors’ commitment to seamlessly blending innovation and convenience in their upcoming electric micro SUV.

While specific details about the Tata Punch EV’s specifications are currently undisclosed, drawing from the precedent set by other Tata electric vehicles, it is reasonable to anticipate the availability of both Standard and Long Range models. Positioned between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, the base model may align with the specifications of the Tigor EV, while the Long Range variant could mirror the performance features seen in the Nexon EV Medium Range. As Tata Motors continues to pave the way in the electric vehicle market, the Punch EV is poised to offer a diverse range of options catering to various driving preferences and needs.
