Google Pixel XL Review, Price and Comparison

Google Pixel XL is the larger of the two Pixel handsets that the Mountain View giant unleashed this year.

To start with, the Pixel XL includes a 5.5-inch 2K AMOLED display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The handset is powered by 2.15GHz Snapdragon 821 quad-core chip, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB/128GB storage. That sounds like enough power for all classes of users.

Since this is a premium flagship handset that costs a fortune, It's imperative that the camera performance is perfect. Google doesn't disappoint on this front and offers a Nexus 6P camera sensor with even larger pixels. Other camera aspects have also been improved. The camera focuses on the subject and clicks insanely fast. The DxoMark score is 89, which is highest ever allotted to a smartphone camera.

Other features include 8MP selfie camera, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac 2x2MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), 3 microphone, 3.5mm Audio Jack, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, and 3450mAh battery.

The base software is Android 7.1 Nougat and the handset will continue receiving version updates and security patches for 2 and 3 years, respectively. his is the first Google Phone that comes with Google Assitant inbuilt. Google is also providing unlimited cloud storage for images and videos (full resolution) clicked using Pixel phones.

Google Pixel XL review

Google was always a service - the best search engine on Earth. Now under the Alphabet umbrella, Google is becoming a brand - for online services yes, but also for hardware. It's not just that, Google even put a promo for Allo on the most valuable real estate on the web - Google.com. Allo, if you haven't heard, is the new messaging client (paired with video chat app Duo) and is at the heart of the Pixel phones. read more →

Google Pixel XL Review

The Pixel XL is a phone on a mission, looking to not only draw attention to Google's prowess as the company behind advanced smartphone software and service, but also as a company that can design some attractive, high-end, and most importantly desirable hardware. HTC may be building the phone, but Google's calling the shots, and its ambition shows.

That puts a lot on the line for Google, but for the most part it doesn't mess up anything of consequence. read more →

Google Pixel XL Review

Google is finally taking the smartphone fight seriously, launching two new handsets with one simple message: Pixel, Phone by Google. That might sound like a slightly gawky message, but it's laced with potency. More than at any other time in the history of Android, Google is taking the fight directly to Apple, and the Pixel is the punch into the soft belly of the iPhone.

This is the Google Pixel XL, the larger of the two Pixel devices, and it's Android's new heavyweight champion. read more →

Feeling sorry for it

There is no point in purchasing this phone at this price. You must go for Apple in this range. If you want to buy such an expensive phone, please go for Apple iPhone for their great service and after sales support.

  • Will get updates for next 2 years.
  • Great camera quality.
  • That's it.
  • Pathetic built quality and design.
  • No after sales support in many countries.
  • No/Nil resale value.
  • Poor battery life.
