What to Expect from Galaxy Unpacked Event

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event in July is expected to witness a host of launches-

1. Samsung Galaxy Ring

Samsung gave a glimpse of its wearable ring during the January unpacked event. Ever since then, various details about the Samsung Galaxy Ring have surfaced online. It was also showcased during the MWC 2024 which marked its first official appearance. The ring has been made from plastic and sports a concave design with an option to choose from nine sizes (5 through 13). It will come in three colors- Ceramic Black, Platinum Silver, and Gold. Samsung claimed that the Ring was still evolving so it might get design changes before its launch in July.

For now, it looked like a wearable with a clean finish on the outside and sensors on the inside. The ring is expected to offer fitness, health, and sleek tracking sensors. The ring will be compatible with the Samsung Health app and will come with a blood oxygen sensor, skin temperature, period, heart rate, respiratory rate tracking, night movement, and sleep latency tracking. Just like a watch, it will also keep track of workouts and step counts but it will not have GPS capability.

A vitality score feature will come to Galaxy Ring that will use activity, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep to give personalized health insights. The battery life is expected to last up to nine days on a single charge. The Galaxy Ring is expected to cost less than Galaxy Watches.

2. Galaxy AI

Samsung will expand its AI capabilities further as the brand has been planning to introduce AI features for its devices like TVs, especially the Bespoke lineup. The foldables launching in July will also get advanced AI features. Samsung will bring an AI innovation through One UI 6.1.1 update which will be AI for video. How it will unfold remains to be seen. It is also expected to start something similar to OpenAI Sora.

It might get a titanium frame and be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The camera specs will most probably be the same but some rumors claim a 200MP sensor might find its way. There are no updates about battery life or charging. It will run Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1 out of the box and get all the possible Galaxy AI features that were launched on the S24 Series. 6. Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro

Samsung last released the Galaxy Buda FE post which the brand hasn’t made any developments in TWS space. This might change with the July event as the brand has been working on Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 3. Galaxy Buds 2 was announced in 2021 so it is high time Buds get an update. Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 3 are in development with model numbers SM-R530 and SM-R630 respectively but no details about the buds have been revealed so far. We will get to know more about these buds in the coming months.

While sources have been correct about the dates of Galaxy Unpacked events in the past, there is always a chance that Samsung might shift things a bit depending on its readiness. The official invites are expected to go out at the end of May or the beginning of June, so we will get to know the official date then.
