Samsung India has unveiled the pricing of the Galaxy A55 5G and the Galaxy A35 5G today. Both phones come in two RAM and storage configurations. While the Galaxy A55 5G offers 256GB of storage across all variants, the Galaxy A35 5G provides 8GB of RAM on both variants. Both phones offer a triple camera setup, a modern look, and four years of major OS updates (along with five years of security updates). With that said, let’s look at the configuration and pricing of these models, along with the specifications and other features.

Out of the box, the Galaxy A55 5G comes with a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and achieves a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for resistance against scratches. Under the hood, the phone runs on the Exynos 1480 SoC (4nm), an octa-core chipset with four high-powered and four efficiency cores.

Further, the phone has a 50MP (f/1.8, OIS) primary camera, a 12MP (f/2.2) ultrawide camera, and a 5MP (f/2.4) macro shooter. On the front, users get a 32MP selfie shooter. Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging. Other features of the smartphone include an in-screen fingerprint scanner, an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, and a dual-speaker setup. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, Type-C port, GPS, and NFC.

The Galaxy A55 5G with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs Rs. 42,999, while the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs Rs. 46,000. However, as part of an introductory offer, buyers will get Rs. 3,000 as an instant cashback, which reduces the prices of the models to Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 43,000, respectively.

In India, the handset comes in two colors: Awesome Ice Blue and Awesome Navy. There’s a good chance that the company will soon release the internationally available colors, including Lilac and Lime, in India.

The Galaxy A35 5G shares its 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness with the Galaxy A55 5G. The primary difference, however, lies within the chassis, where the Galaxy A35 5G features the Exynos 1380 SoC, which offers slightly less processing power than the Exynos 1480 SoC on the A55 5G. The primary rear and macro rear cameras remain the same. However, the A35 5G features an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 13MP selfie shooter. Other features are similar to the Galaxy A55 5G.

The Galaxy A35 5G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs Rs. 30,999. Further, the variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs Rs. 33,999. However, with the Rs. 3,000 instant bank discount, the effective price of these phones comes down to Rs. 27,999 and Rs. 30,999, respectively.

The Galaxy A35 5G will be available in India in three colors: Awesome Iceblue, Lilac, and Awesome Navy.

In a related development, Samsung announced the price of the recently launched Galaxy Fit 3 smart wearable. The market operating price, or the lowest price at which retailers can sell the product, is Rs. 4,999. However, as part of the offer, the company is offering a Rs. 2,000 discount on the wearable when purchased with the newly launched Galaxy A55 5G, which brings down its effective price to Rs. 2,999. All the products should be available to purchase on Samsung’s official website and at other retailers after the event on March 14, 2024.
