Samsung plans to update its mid-range Galaxy J series phone with the release of its Galaxy J8. The handset succeeds last year's Galaxy J7 that is currently priced in Indian market at Rs. 11,499.
As for the specification, the Galaxy J8 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD HD (1280X720p) display with at least 5 finger gesture support. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Samsung’s 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset integrated with Mali G-71 GPU and comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone employs 32GB internal storage, which can further be expanded via microSD card.
In optics, the Galaxy J8 features a 12-megapixel primary camera sensor with LED flash and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies. Both sensors are capable of shooting images at Full HD resolution.
The Galaxy J8 comes running on Android 8.0 Oreo with company's UI on top and houses a 3600mAh non-removable Li-On battery. The phone sports a front-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded under the home button.
At the connectivity front, the Galaxy J8 offers 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, micro USB, and Bluetooth. Sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, GPS, proximity, and compass.
