Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 review: Ace in the hole
The Samsung Galaxy Ace has good features for its price: a decent 3.5 HVGA screen, 800MHz processor, pleasing 5 megapixel camera, good build and, of course, Android 2.2 Froyo. However it fails unexpectedly where inferior phones have been known to deliver: disastrous video recording and poor codec support.

- No shutter key for the camera
- No support for Adobe Flash in the web browser

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 preview: First look
Samsung has already entered both mid-range Froyo scene with the Galaxy S Giorgio Armani and the QWERTY-fied Galaxy 551. The S5830 Galaxy Ace is the companys first Froyo device targeting the largest group of users.
The Galaxy Ace is more powerful than the Optimus One. It has a bigger and more responsive screen, a faster processor and a better camera (at least on paper, the one on our pre-release unit was malfunctioning).read more →

Is the little brother in the Galaxy range an Ace up Samsung's sleeve?
Had users snapped this handset up a year ago when it first came to market, they no doubt would have been thrilled with their budget smartphone that came brimming with a variety of bells and whistles.
A year on, however, and the Samsung Galaxy Ace fails to make a splash, slipping behind a fleet of strong competition and already in line to be replaced by its own successor.read more →

Samsung Galaxy Ace Review
In our tests of its calling quality , though, it underwhelmed us with reverberating sounds on our end of the line. Our callers reported hearing rather unnatural digitized voices, which suggests a poor microphone performance. The Ace comes with a 1350mAh battery, with a quoted talk time of 11 hours. In real life, the phone had no problem getting us through the day, but two days were generally a tall order, so we had to charge it every other day.read more →
- iPhone-like looks
- Above average camera for stills
- Hot-swappable microSD cards (up to 32GB)
- Poor video recording
- Below average calling quality
- No Flash
- No DivX/Xvid codec support out of the box
Samsung GALAXY Ace Preview
There seems to be a lot to love in the Samsung GALAXY Ace : the snappy 800 MHz Qualcomm processor, the screen estate of 3.5 inches and the hot swappable microSD card. On the negative side, its glossy plastic body is not the best out there (even for a mid-range handset), the resolution is average and sunlight legibility could have been better, but these are minor flaws for a handset which seems to up the game for mid-range devices with a larger screen and a pretty decent processor.read more →
