Motorola Moto E6s (2020)

Motorola is back with an interesting entry-grade phone, the Moto E6s 2020. The handset sports a 13MP dual-rear shooter, MediaTek P22 chipset, and is backed by a removable 3000mAh battery. Motorola is trying to blow new life into its entry-level portfolio and it would be interesting to see how it performs against existing competition.

Camera and Performance

Moto E6s 2020 sports dual rear camera set up which includes a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor with autofocus. Buyers can benefit from the depth sensor while capturing portrait shots. HDR capture is supported as well. Videos max out at FHD 1080p@30fps. For selfies and video calls, the waterdrop notch on the screen houses an 8MP camera that can also record 1080p videos.

Motorola Moto E6s 2020 is driven by MediaTek’s P22 chipset with 8 performance cores. It runs on the Android 9 operating system. Moto E6s is not a part of the Android One program but it runs close to stock-Android. This Moto phone is assisted by 2GB RAM. For graphics rendering, it has a VR GE8320 GPU which is also average but reasonable at this price point. The phone also includes user-friendly sensors like accelerometer, proximity, and compass.

Display and Design

Moto E6s 2020 comes with a 6.1-inch color IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch. This multi-touch panel has a resolution of 720x1560px which amounts to 286PPI on a 19.5:9 aspect ratio panel. The screen has a fair size but with the given PPI, you can’t expect visuals to be that sharp and clear. Also, like most of the entry-level phones, it also has thick borders all around it. For biometrics, it features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face lock.

Moto E6s 2020 is solidly built and has a plastic back finish with a plastic frame on the sides. The phone stands at approx 155mm of height and has 8.5mm thickness. It adds the volume rockers and power button to its right side. Also, a headphone jack lies at the top of the phone.

Battery and Storage

Motorola E6s 2020 employs an average 3000mAh removable battery. We don’t see removable batteries as often these days. These batteries are easier to replace and can be a help when your phone freezes.

Moto E6s 2020 has 32GB of internal storage capacity that can be used for stuffing apps and games. Also, it has an external micro-sd card support to expand the storage up to 512GB.

Connectivity

Moto E6s 2020 connectivity options include 3G, 4G, VoLTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.2, and USB Type C v2.0. For online navigation, it features constellations like GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS.

Moto E6s 2020 is an entry-level smartphone that covers basic demands that buyers look for in affordable phones. Moto E6s 2020 has a fine display but lacks in performance. With only 2GB RAM and a basic chipset, it would be tough for this phone to compete against Realme and Redmi phones which offer more in the same price bracket.
