well for starters those who are buying their first laptop i won't suggest this. after the first boot there is a lot of things to update. i got 2 bios updates and now it is in the latest version. there is no point in degrading this laptop purely by saying it's heating and crashing,first of all update all the drivers and updates and ur all set to go. there is no sort of "overheating" as for me. it's a beast in this price range the hardware ur getting for the money is not comparable. it heats up just a bit than the competitors. the idle temps would be around 40-55°C according to ur load (considering browsing chrome with multiple tabs, lot of sofware run in background... etc) that too after 2 hrs of continous usage.and yes the temps can rise above 85°c in gaming but u can cool ur system using high performance(max fan) mode offered by dell. i mainly use it for productivity and gaming. the battery life i am getting is abt 4-6hrs depending on the usage. it is on the heavier side carrying it with the power'brick' provided is a task. overall there is a lot of room for improvement for this machine. it can be even better by the coming updates.it is bang forr buck at this price range. hope this is helpful!
