Social Network Facebook will now allow users to add short videos as profile pictures. If you feel the DP on your wall was too emotionless or maybe stagnant, these new live pictures might add more spice to your social media experience.

Too many videos playing in loop on your wall would surely be nauseating, and thus these animated profile pics will be reserved for times when someone visits your profile.

“We’re not ignoring profile pictures either; we’ve also built some new features that will help you better let your personality shine through your profile picture. When more than 26 million people used our Celebrate Pride filter, it was more apparent than ever that people use their profile picture to show who they are— even if it’s just for a moment in time. Profile pictures are not just static portraits. They represent what’s going in your life right now and what’s important to you, and we want to give people the tools to better express themselves in this way.”, acknowledged Facebook on the profile page.

Besides video profile pics, Facebook has also improved the design of its mobile profile. These features are currently available to a small section of people in UK and California, but will soon roll out for everyone.
