Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G confirmed to launch in December

1

At the Xiaomi Developers Conference in Beijing, the company CEO Lei Jun laid out a launch timeline for the Redmi K30 series. He revealed that the non-pro variant will launch next month. Notably, this contradicts Redmi GM Lu Weibing, who had earlier said the Redmi K30 is due for next year. But, he could’ve meant the actual availability of the phone.

Nevertheless, sooner the better, right? After all, the Redmi K20 series was a good crop of phones and the successor would be 5G equipped. If you jog your memory, you may recall, Xiaomi had already disclosed that the Redmi K30 will support dual-mode 5G. This simply means Redmi K30 5G will be capable of leveraging the existing 4G infrastructure for certain tasks such as communication between cell towers and servers.

We also know about the phone’s dual punch-hole frontier, a detour from the pop-up design of the original. And just like the originals, Redmi K30 is likely to run on Snapdragon 700 series processor while the Pro will be propelled by Snapdragon 800 series chipset.

So, Mr. Jun has reaffirmed the previous news. But again, the actual dates are still held close to the chest. Moreover, there is no word on the Redmi K30 Pro, which going by the rumors is slated for next year. Speaking of which, 2020 will be a big year for the brand as it declares at least 10 5G mobile phones to be released next year.
