Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime is set to debut on August 4. That’s right, Xiaomi has officially revealed the name of its upcoming smartphone today though a teaser post on social media. Interestingly, it been sometime Xiaomi has launched a phone with Prime moniker attached its name.

Redmi India took on Twitter to officially announce the name of Redmi 9 Prime. The street was buzzing with Redmi 9 speculations but Xiaomi decides to launch a Redmi 9 Prime instead.

Amazon also joined in the hype building exercise by teasing Redmi 9 Prime on its website and app. This also means Redmi 9 Prime will feature in its upcoming Prime Day 2020 sale.

Redmi 9 Prime Features (Expected)

The Redmi 9 Prime could be a tweaked version of recent globally announced Redmi 9. The global Redmi 9 has a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with 400nits advertised brightness. The phone is powered by a modest MediaTek Helio G80 processor coupled with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB internal storage.

The camera module involves a 13MP quadruple setup with an additional 8MP ultrawide sensor, 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The battery ships with 5020mAh efficiency with 18W fast charge support. Redmi 9 runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

Redmi 9 starts at the price of €149 (~Rs. 12,880) in the European market. When talked of Redmi 9 Prime, the price could lie below Rs 10,000 in India.
