Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Makes Its Way To India

Chinese Smartphone and gadgets manufacturer Xiaomi has launched its Mi Band 2 –a fitness wearable tracker in India. This new wearable device is the successor of Mi Band which debuted in India back in 2014. The new fitness tracker will be available from September 27 on Mi.com and from September 30 on Amazon India. Xiaomi has priced it at Rs. 1999.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 features a 0.42-inch OLED display which showcases time, date, step counts, heart rate and available battery percentage. A capacitive button below the display can be used to navigate between these stats.

The glass on top of the display is scratch resistant and features an anti-fingerprint coating to keep smudges at bay. The new band comes with IP67 certification which ensures it is water, sweat and dust proof. The straps of the band are made of hypoallergenic silicone which resists stains and scuff marks. To an extent, that is.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 comes with an ADI accelerometer and improved pedometer algorithm ensure it gather precise steps and sleeping data . This time, Xiaomi has roped second generation Bluetooth 4.0 for better connectivity. Like its predecessor, it is required to pair the band 2 with the Mi Fit app.  It comes with a 70mAh Li-Po battery which can last 20 days on a single charge.
