Xiaomi Mi A2 Android One Phone Enters India: Price, Specs and Features

The Xiaomi Mi A2 India launch is now official and biggest revelation that happened today was the price. The Xaomi Mi A2 India price and availability were the only thing missing after Xiaomi launched its second Android One phone in Spain last month.

However, for the Indian market, Xiaomi has changed the entry point an instead of 4GB RAM with 32GB ROM (as in Europe), the Mi A2 (review) base variant stars 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Xaomi Mi A2 India Price and Availability

The Mi A2 price in India starts at Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The price of 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant that will come in India later was not announced. The Xaiomi’s second-generation AndroidOne phone will retail on Amazon.in, Mi.com, and Mi Stores starting from August 16 next week.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Features and Highlights

Continuing the last year’s Mi A1 legacy, Its successor also runs on an optimized version of Android 8.1 Oreo under Google’s Android One programme. Although its launch presentation, Xiaomi had a lot to talk about the Mi A2 cameras. It features a dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 with f/1.75 aperture and 1.25-micron pixels mated to a 20-megapixel secondary Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a 2-micron 4-in-1 Super Pixel size. It also gets a dual-tone LED flash and PDAF support. Up front, Xiaomi has added a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 selfie camera with f/1.75 aperture, fixed focal length, and a soft-LED flash.

The Mi A2, houses a 5.99-inch 18:9 full HD+ display with 2.5D curved glass, and Gorilla Glass 5. Xaomi has sourced a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC for the Mi A2 which also gets an Adreno 512 GPU. The phone packs a 3,010mAh battery under the hood. It supports Quick Charge 4 for fast-charging support out of the box.

As for the connectivity, the Mi A2 includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Miracast, an IR emitter, and USB Type-C. The phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack and media expansion drive.
