Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will launch the Xiaomi 12 Series on December 28 in China. Now just a few days before the launch, the company has started teasing about the various specs and features of the devices in the series.

Earlier the company had revealed that the entire Xiaomi 12 Series will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and come with MIUI 13 pre-installed. Yesterday, a demo video was shared by Wei Siqi, product manager of the Xiaomi 12 series which revealed that the Xiaomi 12 Pro variant will feature a 2K resolution Samsung E5 AMOLED display with 2nd gen LTPO technology and micro-lens micro-prism technology.

Xiaomi also claimed that the smartphone will support variable refresh rates (1Hz to 120Hz) and an image was shared revealing how the refresh rate will change automatically depending on the app ranging from 1Hz on reading apps to 120Hz on apps with a lot of dynamic content on screen. If a video is being played, then the refresh rate will go down to 60Hz and not 10Hz to ensure that the video plays smoothly.

Slim bezels can be seen around the display and they are near to equal width all around. The corners seem to be trimmed and don’t look as good as they were on Mi 11.

The refresh rate will be adjusted even when one is doing something as simple as scrolling through the Settings app and this will help the smartphone conserve battery life.

No other information has been revealed by Xiaomi about its upcoming Xiaomi 12 series, but more details are awaited as the day of launch draws closer. For now, it seems like Xiaomi 12 series will have significant updates over last year’s Mi 11 series.
