Messaging app WhatsApp keeps adding new features every once in a while to make the user experience even better. Now, Whatsapp has introduced a privacy feature that is meant for those who send images using Whatsapp. Whatsapp development tracker, WABetaInfo has shared its report that mentions a new feature, a drawing tool that will blur out any part of the images. With the help of this tool, you will be able to blur out any sensitive information from their images.

“Thanks to the blur tool, you can quickly censure sensitive information from your images in a neat way. In June, we also announced that a version of the blur was under development on WhatsApp Desktop Beta and it is finally rolling out to some beta testers,” a report byWABetaInfo read.

Earlier this year, WABetaInfo announced that such a feature was under development on Whatsapp Desktop Beta. Now, it has started rolling out for some beta testers. A screenshot that has been shared depicts how the new tool works clearly. In the image, the blur tool has been used on the WhatsApp desktop has blurred out the image. Apparently, there are 2 blur tools using which, users will be able to edit their images using an alternate blur effect. They will also be able to choose the size of the blur which can then be applied.

To check if this feature is available for you, try sending a picture via the desktop version of your Whatsapp. Before sending the picture, go to the edit tools option and if there is an option to blur, that means the feature has been rolled out to you. If not, then you will have to wait for the update coming up in the future. The feature was found on iOS as well as Android devices. The feature will come in handy when you have to share an image with someone, but don’t want to reveal the entire image to that person. Using this tool, one can share the image that is needed along with keeping their sensitive information under wraps.

What else is new in Whatsapp?

The company has announced that users will soon be able to forward media such as videos, pictures, GIFs, and documents along with a caption. WhatsApp Beta for Android is also getting an all-new avatar feature in the near future that will let you customize your profile picture with the help of these avatars. Whatsapp has also introduced a new Status reaction feature for iOS users. Using this, you will be able to react to a status by sending a reaction, just like you can react to a story on Instagram.
