Apple rolled out the iPhone 14 Pro with satellite connectivity and it was a quick success. Soon after, other brands began working on similar lines and it seems like Vivo is ready to roll it out. Turns out leaks from WhyLab suggest the upcoming Vivo X100 Pro to get satellite messaging functionality.

Vivo X100 pro bearing model number V2309A recently got certified by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. One of the features it brings onboard is the two-way satellite messaging that you can use to send and receive texts, voice recordings, pictures, videos, etc., and that’s when there’s no cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity.

According to the leaked specs sheet, Vivo X100 Pro (a part of X100 series comprising a vanilla and Pro+ variant too), will pack in MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. A Unisoc V8821 co-processor will handle the satellite connectivity ensuring it works seamlessly.

Moving further, we have the alleged camera tech specifications. There’s a 53MP primary shooter paired with a 50MP portrait lens boasting a 2x optical zoom. A 64MP periscope sensor sits along the rear camera setup with a lens equivalent to 100mm.

When it comes to the release date, Vivo X100 Pro is scheduled to launch sometime next month in China. The dates haven’t been out yet although we suspect it won’t come out of its home country. But hey, let’s cross out figures and wait.
