Toshiba Smart TV Series start at Rs. 12,990 in India, Sale from Sep 18

Toshiba is coming out with a swathe of Smart TVs in India. There are 7 to be precise. This covers HD to UHD and even QLED resolution, while sizes range from 32 to 65 inches.

All models come with Vidaa OS, developed by Hisense. For those who may not know, Toshiba Visual Solution was acquired by Hisense in 2017. The refreshed version of the Vidaa operating system comes with major apps and streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Red Bull TV, and Hungama, among others.

Coming back to the TVs, they have been categorized into – premium UHD U79 series, the UHD U50 Series and the Smart L50 series. Here’s how each of these differs in terms of their specs and features:

Toshiba L5050 TV Details

The affordable ones of the lot are the 32L5050 HD (Rs. 12,990) and 43L5050 FHD (Rs. 22,490) models. Both have ADS panels, that are said to be similar in performance to IPS, and better color reproduction than VA Panel. There is Dolby Audio and 24W in-built speakers here.

Toshiba U5050 TV Details

The 4K (3840×2160) LED offering begins with the 43U5050 (Rs. 27,990), 50U5050 (Rs. 32,990), and 55U5050 (Rs. 36,990) versions. These also sport Dolby Atmos Dolby Vision HDR and Alexa voice integration.

Toshiba U7980 TV Details

The flagship products from Toshiba are the 55U7980 (Rs. 46,990) and 65U7980 (Rs. 66,990). These bring full-array local dimming, wide color coverage, and MEMC motion smoothing besides the features found in the U5050 lineup.

Toshiba TVs Availability

The Toshiba TVs will retail via Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and TataCliq. The company is offering a four-year warranty on the panel for buyers who purchase the TV from September 18 to 21.

These are being touted as ‘Made in India’ TVs. This is backed by the company’s wide network of over 450 service centers, in more than 18,500 pin codes spanning across the country.
